We will have a Quiz on the Middle East map on Tuesday. Be able to locate the places on a map.
We continued reading Chapter 1.
Be able to locate these countries and waterways on a map: Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Syria. Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kuwait, Jordan, The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Palestine, Lebanon, Oman, Sudan, Cyprus, (You do not need to learn these but you should have an idea as they are so much on the news: Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Libya.). Waterways: Mediterranean Sea, Persian Gulf, Indian Ocean, Red Sea, Black Sea, Caspian Sea, Tigris River, Euphrates River, Nile River, Suez Canal.
H.W.- Read Genesis Chapter 7. Study the countries and the waterways for the map. Quiz tomorrow. Continue reading chapter I to the end of page 5. Answer questions 1 - 4 on page 6. Write out an explanation for "Identify" the first two.

We reviewed plot, and character. I went over the format for the Quiz on Wednesday.
1. Explain a conflict and a complication in "Mama and the Graduation Present".
2. How can Katrin be shown to be selfish? (Use examples)
3. What was the "rite of passage" that Katrin went through to show that she was now "mature".

Life skills was double double today. We continued on my life story, got caught up on Christian news, and listened to a few songs.

We examined more detail of the story - particularly Madame Beauchamp.
1. How is Madame Beauchamp shown to be self-centered?
2. How did Moma show her good judgement of character and "smarts" when faced with the unscrupulous, cunning mind of the doctors wife?
3. Explain an example of irony of situation from the story.
