Chapter Seven History Questions
1.       Draw a map of The Mediterranean and Europe. Include: Italy, Greece, France (Gaul), Germany, Spain, Corsica, Sicily, Sardinia, Carthage, Asia Minor, The Alps, The Apennine Mountains, The Rhine River, The Danube River, The Po River, the Tiber River, ----- MORE TO BE ADDED.
2.       How was the Roman Empire seen as “ the best of the borrowers”?
3.       Name the four “Indo-Europeans” living in Italy in the fifth century BC. Indicate on you map, where each of these were located in Italy.
4.       What was Magna Graecia and how did the name come about?
5.       How did the Etruscans influence Rome?
6.       List four reasons why Rome was a good site for a city.
7.       What are your feelings on the story of Remus and Romulus?
8.       Explain the quotation “Rome was built on a foundation of force and violence”.
9.       What was the Roman Pantheon?
10.   Give a brief description of the Early Roman Republic.
11.   Find a definition for the term republic.
12.   Outline the class structure of Roman citizens.
13.   Explain the make-up of the Roman early system of government.

 We started a new play called "Flatline", which I sent to you and is also available on Dramatix on line.
  We went through the play again with more emotion and better role understanding.
Flatline - Questions

  1. What does the title of the play Flatline have to do with the actual story?
  2. Three part Question:
                  What character traits should a good doctor have?
                  What are some character traits that are typically given to a doctor?
                  What were some character traits given to Dr. Able?
  1. Television dramas, movies, etc., are usually meant to entertain but they also often try to influence you with ideas. What can this play lead you to believe about a) spirits, b) angels, c) the devil, d) the state of being unconscious, and e) doctors and nurses?
  2. There is an expression that goes: “The devil can quote scripture for his own purposes”. What do you think is meant by this? How does this apply to "Flatline"?
  3. Does this play go along with your idea of spirits and the devil? What are some similarities and differences? (You may use the first person in this answer)
  4. What is the significance of the angel touching Judy on the shoulder at the end of the play?
  5. How does a play differ from a short story in how character is revealed?

We started the play. Looked at the differences between a play and a short story/novel. We have covered plot, setting and character.
Home Work:  In a short story or novel, the setting is portrayed through the writing of the author in the actual text of the book. From where is the information for setting derived in a play?
