19/01/12 Thursday, Day #1

I have noon duty this week. If you owe me time or need extra help, it will have to be in the AM. I have B-ball practice on Thursday and a game on Friday. (Saturday as well if you want to drive to Minto to see it.) Why does "spell-check" not recognize Minto as a word?????

Yesterday we had Life Skills. Today, I went over 6.1b and we answered the last five questions on page 53.

The map is the one on Greece on page 61 in your text. Learn the locations of the following: Adriatic Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Aegean Sea, Hellespont, Crete(Which is actually not on the map), Illyria, Macedonia, Lydia, Ionia, Thrace, Thessaly, Euboea, Peloponnesus,Thera, Olympia, Sparta, Thebes, Athens, Marathon, Delphi, Troy, Sardis, Pella.

  H.W.- Answer questions 5 - 10 on page 53. Study for quiz on 6.1 and map.

Period #4 English Literature 7 Worked on "Writing the All-Purpose Paragraph". 

We went over the example and started on the example, explanation and conclusion.
Friday we will try to write a whole paragraph in class. It will deal with "Success".

HW : For tomorrow, have the paragraph completed - How can the expression, "Live life simply, simply so that others can live", be applied to everyday life.

Period # 7 English Literature 8 - Quiz on advertising on Friday, January 20. Know the notes that I posted on the site (jlch@jlcharris.com) and what we talked about in class. 
Today we looked at what we thought were the most important components of the particular ads that each student did.
 Review the components of the ad.

HW: Be able to explain the components of the advertisement that you found in class. Prepare for the quiz on advertising.
