NOTE: English Grammar 7 + 8 - Big SPELLING Test on Monday, October 24 not Thursday as previously advertised.
I have 3:00 P.M. duty next week as well as this week. I will be available before school, at noon, and after school after 3:30.

Period #1 English Grammar- Grammar Quiz on rules. Big SPELLING Test coming up after 100 words..... The test will be purely spelling. There will be five words from Lists one, two, and three and ten words from List 4. There will be a Quiz on List Four as well. The TEST will be Monday, October 24.
We will be studying apostrophes.
Spelling words 1 - 5 of List #5.

We will be spending a lot more time on the Grammar rules. Some people are having difficulty in specific situations and these need to be resolved.
H.W. - Spelling words 1 - 5 in List #4. Spelling (Know how to spell each word, define each word and use each word in a sentence that shows the meaning of the word.)Grammar: Exercise "C" on posessives. (Page 41) Study for the Spelling TEST tomorrow - Monday, Oct. 24.

Period #3 History 7 and 8 - When we complete the unit on Canaan, we will be writing a TEST on Chapters 1 and 2. This will probably be on Thursday or Friday of this week.
I checked HW. We worked on page17 on Canaan again and I explained how settlements start because of transportatio, weather, geography, industry, access and distence. This was all tied in to
 how Canaan was settled.
H.W.- Read Genesis Chapter 14. Explain the identifies for tomorrow. Study for your Test on Friday. 



Period #4 English Literature 7
Literature QUIZ on Thursday, October 20 on terms and application of them. (plot, character, setting, themes and their components) This will be mostly a fill in the blank style of test.  You will have to write some answers in sentence form. 
We started "reading between the lines of "Alas! Poor Annabelle!".
HW: Answer the first three questions at the end of "Alas! Poor Annabelle!"

Period # 7 English Literature 8 - English Literature QUIZ on Thursday, October 20/2011. This will be on terminology(plot, theme, setting, character, etc.) and application to stories studied this term and real life situations. This will be mostly a "fill in the blanks" type of test.
We started "The Case of the Missing Will" today.
HW: Answer questions 1 and 2 on page  24. Read "The Case of the Missing Will".
